It’s Thanksgiving Week!

It’s that time of year!

Thanksgiving is only a few days away.

It kicks off the official holiday season.

Before we know it, Christmas will be here!

Lots of people say it’s the most wonderful time of the year.

For many women it’s often the hardest.

Extra cooking, guests, shopping, holiday parties, and events take a lot of our time, energy, and effort.

I could get tired just thinking about it!

Part of what drives us during this season is a desire to show our family how much we care and to give them a great family holiday filled with lots of memories and love.

That is a good thing as long as we keep it in check and don’t let it overwhelm us.

Unfortunately, too often we get so busy trying to get it right we lose sight of why we’re doing it.

This cheats us out of enjoying it and defeats the purpose of even doing it.

One of the other things that drives us this time of year is fear.

National Day of Prayer

Today is the National Day of Prayer.

It’s a day we come together and turn to God in prayer, interceding for our nation’s leaders and its families.

This Year’s theme is,”Love One Another”.

Please take a few minutes, either at one of the many events all over the country or in your own quiet time, to pray and ask God to help, strengthen, protect, and guide our leaders and our families. Ask God to turn their hearts back to Him and the path He has laid out.

Ask God to change us to a nation of people who love one another and care for each other the way He has designed us to.

Happy New Year!

It’s a New Year!

With it comes this new blog!

I started it as a place to share the things I’m learning as I study God’s Word. You’ll notice it’s not like other blogs. No pics to accent the posts. No flashy graphics. No affiliate links or products to buy. Just God’s word and my understanding of it.

I hope when you read a post you will go to the comments section and give your thoughts on it. We all have so much to share and can learn so much from each other. What you have to say can help so many others.

Most of all, I hope (and pray!) I can be a blessing to you whether you’ve been a Christian for a long time, a short time, or are still deciding whether to trust Christ as your Savior.

No matter your opinion or spiritual situation, you are welcome here. You are loved. You are respected. You matter!

I look forward to getting to know you better and to studying with you as we learn more about God, His Son, and His rescue plan for all mankind.

Peace,
Karen
